On Thursday evening, November 1st, adults, teenagers, and children alike came out to Giving Children Hope’s Distribution Center to pack over 300 boxes of relief aid and raise over $300 for wildfire evacuees in the Lake Arrowhead community.
Earlier in the afternoon, Crean Lutheran South High School students helped sort and pack similiar boxes of relief items, such as non-perishable food, new clothing, toys and hygiene kits.
Volunteers at the Packing Party ate pizza, listened to music, packed “Boxes of Hope,” and wrote personalized notes that would be read as evacuees in Lake Arrowhead opened thier packages.
“It is so much fun to spend time with other people who care about helping the kids and families that have lost everything they owned. I like thinking that someone is going to open this box and read the note that I wrote them. I am having a really good time!”-Robert Huisman, 17, GCH volunteer
