Update from New Orleans Dream Center

2008-9-5

Giving Children Hope is working hard to send disaster relief items for the damage Hurricane Gustav left behind. Here is an update from the New Orleans Dream Center, our partners in New Orleans:

The New Orleans Dream Center staff and volunteers are enthusiastic about the opportunity to facilitate the return of New Orleans residents and supply them with free food, water, and medical care. Residents are returning home to houses without power, refrigerators without food, streets to clean, and spirits to lift. With the effects of Katrina still hovering around this city, another near disaster is a hard thing to swallow.

In our first four hours we have served over 2,000 residents with essential emergency relief. Our Mobile Medical Unit is filling critical prescriptions for patients who have been out of medicine for up to five days.

We would like to thank our strategic partners; MAP International, Giving Children Hope, PRC Compassion, Blood & Fire Ministries, and Somebody Cares America. If it wasn’t for your efforts to aid in this recovery, the struggle would not subside.

We are extremely grateful for your involvement and assistance, and we look forward to your continued cooperation!

Please donate today to help with our disaster relief efforts.
