In the West Region, the vision for missions arose in 1997. Over the period of the next two years, the West Region investigated different avenues through which they could serve or provide support in the mission field. After much prayer it was decided that the focus would be to support missionaries on the ground, more precisely one missionary in the Central African Republic (C. A. R). Thus their relationship with Edet and Ann George, missionaries in C. A. R, was forged.

Under the leadership of Mr. Linus Ojukwu, ACF West Region has cultivated a support relationship with Edet and Ann George. Edet and Ann’s Adonai Missions Int’l Bible School, provides a place were future ministers are trained in missions. As a non-denominational school, it allows people to receive missions training regardless of Church background. In addition to providing the students with an understanding of the scriptures, the missionaries also make available to the students and others in the area hygiene classes to combat the problem in that region. ACF West Region’s financial support of Edet and Ann efforts has born much fruit. Through their support and the ministering of the missionaries there has been an increase in the level of awareness of God and the desire for righteousness in this region. There has also been improvement in the people’s hygiene situation.

In addition to financial support, the West Region has also taken a more hands on role by sponsoring twenty students on scholarship to attend Adonai Missions Int’l Bible School. Furthermore, going on annual mission trips enabled ACF West Region to strengthen their relationship with the missionaries on the ground. These trips have been used not only to encourage the missionaries in their work, but also have been used as opportunities to further spread the gospel in that region and encourage the Christians there. The last mission trip in February and April 2004 in particular were of importance as they were able to include Medical ministry as part of their program. This ministry sought to provide clinical care to people in the region in addidtion to sanitation and health classes.

In the future, ACF West Region seeks to expand its impact through medical missions and increase the number of teams available to go on these trips. ACF West Region also desires to see the vision for missions ignited amongst its other chapters in the region.

Note from Doctor in Bangui

Note from recipient:

God did answer our prayer as you said. Everything is going on well. By tomorrow we would have seen over a thousand patients. Yesterday we broke away from the city to the deep forest to take care of the pygmies.

Thank you so much for praying.

God bless.

Dr. Linus Ojukwu
