Response to Southern California Fires

BUENA PARK, CA (October 24, 2007) Giving Children Hope/Global Operations and Development is partnering with the Salvation Army, Hope Force International, and Mariner’s Church to immediately distribute aid to those who have been displaced by the outbreak of wild fires across Southern California.

A shipment of hygiene items, diapers, cereal, paper towels, laundry soap, popcorn, and rice will be leaving the Giving Children Hope (GCH) Distribution Center for immediate delivery to shelters across Southern California. Many of the above items were donated to GCH by Nutrilite in Buena Park, CA.

GCH is continuing to collect items for the relief effort. At present the most needed items are:

• Cots
• Toys
• Blankets
• Hygiene items
• Diapers
• Non-perishable food
• Bottled water
• Batteries
• Baby items
• Baby formula
• Sleeping bags

As we have further information of items in most need we will inform the media. Individuals can come to our distribution center at 8332 Commonwealth Ave, Buena Park, CA 90621 to drop off collected items. Monetary donations are also greatly needed and can be sent to the above address. Additionally, volunteers are packing hygiene kits for distribution.
