Response to Peru Earthquake

BUENA PARK, CA (August 16, 2007) Giving Children Hope/Global Operations and Development is responding quickly to the 8.0 magnitude that struck Peru by sending containers of valuable medical supplies, food, blankets, and other humanitarian aid. Tens of thousands have been left either homeless or wounded with many cities south of Lima left in ruins. Churches and hospitals were left without water and electricity and aftershocks continue to shake the region.

Giving Children Hope/Global Operations and Development have partnered with two churches in the city of Pisco where 75% of the infrastructure has been destroyed. In addition, Giving Children Hope/Global Operations and Development have partnered with SOMIDEP based in Lima to distribute the aid. More information will be released as it is made available. For information on how to help please visit our website at www.gchope.org or contact our office at 714-523-4454.
