The recent drought in the horn of Africa region has created a greater health crisis than ever before seen in the suffering communities. Giving Children Hope, in partnership with Dr. Abdul-Aziz Farah and Humanitarian Endeavoring and Life Promotion, Somalia, is sending pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to address the health risks associated with the drought. GCHope is also preparing to send LifeStraws to provide the gift of clean drinking water to the suffering regions.
According to field reports, the horn of Africa regions are experiencing famine, malnutrition and outbreaks of disease including cholera, varicella among children, hepatitis, HIV, tuberculosis and bilharzia.
The more than two decade long civil war continues to ravage the region and communities desperate for relief are not finding solace in the government.
GCHope is responding as rapidly as possible, sending medicines and medical supplies requested by partners.
Please consider playing a part in this relief effort by helping to fund upcoming shipments. To sponsor medicines, medical supplies, or a container, please contact Sean Lawrence.
