On November 15th, Bangladesh was struck by a category 4 cyclone that has left a death toll of over 3,000, a number which is expected to rise to anywhere between 5,000 and 10,000. In country officials have estimated that over 500,000 have been displaced with over 800,000 homes destroyed by the storm. Cyclone Sidr has been identified as the second strongest storm to make landfall in the country in over a century, according to InterAction.
Giving Children Hope, in partnership with Compassion Radio, is preparing to send relief aid including emergency food, medication, tents and other much needed items to the Bay of Bengal in Bangladesh in response to the devastation.
