Nonprofit launches warehouse training program; increasing self-sufficiency
Buena Park, Calif. (January 30, 2008) – Giving Children Hope’s workforce development program, Hands of Hope, is launching their 4-month warehouse training program on February 12.
The 4-month program will include basic hands-on training conducted by the warehouse manager in shipping and receiving items and basic operations of an international nonprofit organization. The training program includes certification in forklift operations.
Training will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 A.M to 12 P.M. The cost is a $5 fee that will be refunded upon completion of the training. Participants must be 18 or older or be 18 by May 4. Space is limited.
Hands of Hope focuses on equipping vulnerable individuals with the job skills they need to re-enter the workforce and earn a self-sustaining wage.

Orange County Charity Sends Medical Aid to Mother/Baby Hospital in Ukraine
BUENA PARK, Calif. (January 16, 2008) – On Friday, January 10th, a 40 foot container of medical aid left Giving Children Hope’s Distribution bound for Artemovsk Maternity Hospital in Ukraine.
In partnership with Operation Ukraine, the container is filled with medical supplies and medical equipment such as a baby incubator, a vital signs monitor, a blood pressure monitor, and surgical instruments. Artemovsk Maternity Hospital serves women from a population of 120,000 in which more than 80% of the women delivering are high-risk due to malnutrition and lack of vitamins. The hospital staff experiences many complications during delivery since they lack proper equipment.
Giving Children Hope is dedicated to providing for at-risk populations by equipping international hospitals and medical clinics with much needed supplies and equipment. Through the refurbishment of medical centers, Giving Children Hope is able to reinforce local medical professionals to better serve their communities, promoting health and disease prevention.
