Dhont Family Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to Help Feed Homeless Children in Orange County

BUENA PARK, Calif. (November 9, 2008)- Tomorrow at 2 P.M., the Dhont Family Foundation will present Giving Children Hope with a $10,000 grant for its We’ve Got Your Back program at its offices at 8332 Commonwealth Ave. Buena Park 90621. We’ve Got Your Back is a weekend nutrition program created by Giving Children hope for elementary students in the Orange Unified School District who have been identified as “homeless” under the McKinney-Vento act. The grant will help the program purchase food for the children enrolled in the program.

In addition to the grant, the Dhont Family Foundation is offering a $15,000 matching grant. Any donations given directly to We’ve Got Your Back will be doubled.

Giving Children Hope is grateful to the Dhont Family Foundation for their contribution and dedication to Orange County’s homeless children.

The Dhont Family Foundation was founded in 1998 and helps fund local projects in Southern California.

Hollywood Rockumentary Helps Raise Funds for Orange County Nonprofit

BUENA PARK, Calif. (October 8, 2008) –CALL + RESPONSE, a rockumentary on modern day slavery, is partnering with Giving Children Hope to help raise funds to help build a clinic in Thailand for orphans that have been rescued from slavery. The Not For Sale Campaign will also be partnering to help build a health clinic stocked with medicines and supplies to provide care for hundreds of children. Giving Children Hope will help supply medical equipment, supplies and medicines.

The rockumentary is premiering in select theaters this weekend from October 10-16. Proceeds will help to end slavery and to help fund the clinic in Thailand. Orange County showings will be at Edwards Westpark 8 at 3755 Alton Parkway, Irvine 92606. Los Angeles showings will be at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 at 8000 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, 90046. The movie includes a star-studded list of luminaries on the issue such as Cornel West, Madeleine Albright, Daryl Hannah, Julia Ormond, Ashley Judd, Nicholas Kristof, and many other prominent political and cultural figures offer first hand account of this 21st century trade. Second Shipment of Relief Sent to Houston in Response to Ike

BUENA PARK, Calif. (September 23, 2008)- Today, Giving Children Hope sent out their second of shipment of aid in partnership with Union Rescue Mission, to the Star of Hope Rescue Mission in Houston, TX in response to the damage Hurricane Ike left behind.

Giving Children Hope has already sent one container of relief to the Lindale Assembly of God Church in Houston, but the area is in desperate need of more food, water and relief supplies.

Giving Children Hope is still accepting monetary donations to procure and deliver necessary items to the Gulf Coast region.
