In partnership with Union Rescue Mission and the efforts of Eileen Anderson, Giving Children Hope Board Member, Giving Children Hope sent $400,000 worth of pharmaceuticals to Annotto Bay Hospital in St. Mary, Jamaica. The shipment included doxycycline and mebendazole.
The container of pharmaceuticals arrived in Kingston, Jamaica on Friday.
Originally built in 1860 as a public infirmary, the Annotto Bay Hospital expanded rapidly to provide out-patient services the many communities of North-East St Mary. Annotto Bay Hospital today handles approximately 14,661 out-patient visits annually, including emergency services.
This shipment is part of Giving Children Hope’s new pharmaceutical program. GCH is partnering with other organizations, churches, and indigenous persons to deliver shipments of pharmaceuticals to clinics and hospitals in developing countries.
