Partner frequently asked ?‘s
Do you have a question about how to work with us as another non-profit, before you call us please check the list of our Frequently Asked Questions from non-profit partners.
What are follow-up requirements for our organization?
Like any other organization, we require feedback reports, photos and video when possible. We want to hear the stories of how the community was impacted so we can distribute that to others. We also often visit the projects we serve. We won’t impose our implementation strategy upon your community unless we are asked for our advice, but we do expect regular updates.
Will you do the fund-raising for our project?
Yes and No. We do all we can to help keep associated sponsorship as low as possible, and we will support and give you fundraising ideas and if we find someone with a specific interest in a project like yours, we will let them know.
Additionally, with the stories, video and photos you provide, we will produce a great looking project page where you can email the link out to others. We work hard to market our website and do in-bound strategies like utilizing search-engine optimization and social networking like Twitter and Facebook. If your project page is compelling, our efforts will help attract new donors to contribute to your project. In this way it’s a true partnership and joint effort.
What we cannot do is to do speaking engagements for your project or do direct solicitation for your project unless it is to your constituency. Since you are the one most passionate about your specific project, you are in the best position to successfully fundraise. However, if you set up a meeting with your donor base and would like us to be present we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Why is there a cost if you utilize donated goods?
Great question. There are a few answers. The first is that in order for an organization to take ownership of a project it must be invested in its success. When items are given for free, the success of a project greatly diminishes. We want to work on sustainable and successful projects and have found that a financial investment from our partners makes a difference.
There are also associated costs to our operations. In a sense, we work for you. GCH works hard to procure, sort and inventory product as well as to re-furbish equipment that is sent to your project. If you tried to do this on your own, your costs would be much higher. Then there are external costs like that shipping companies charge to ship the container. Additionally, we are often charged handling fees for the product and equipment that we receive from others. We are able to procure these items at a reduced fee due to our 501©3 status but there is still an associated cost. A basic clinic in a developing country costs approximately $18,000 (depending on equipment needed). The true market value rate on producing this same clinic would be triple.
Do you provide your medical supplies and equipment for free to your partner agencies?
Yes and no. We are always working hard on securing more funding to enable us to provide items for the lowest possible sponsorship. While the product that we send to our recipients is for free, we do not have a large fundraising staff that can take the on fundraising for your project. We ask you to partner with us through handling fees and by sending people to your project page on our website to contribute directly to your project.
How do I get my project listed on your website?
Thanks for your interest in partnering with Giving Children Hope! You must be a registered 501c3 to partner.
