Orange County Charity Establishes New Medical Clinic in Zimbabwe

BUENA PARK (September 17, 2007)- Giving Children Hope (GCH), through partnership and sponsorship of the Orange Rotary, has established a new medical clinic in Zimbabwe and is sending supplies to replenish already established clinics in the area. A container of supplies and equipment will be loaded at the GCH Distribution Center tomorrow and will leave for Zimbabwe on Wednesday.

With the help of the Rotary, GCH was able to specify the needed supplies and equipment for the clinic, and supplied the items through the procurement of low cost or donated items. GCH’s bio-technician refurbishes recycled medical equipment to be included in the shipment.

The new clinic is designed to consist of 32 rooms, of which 4 have already been constructed. The clinic’s staff currently includes 3 doctors, 5 nurses, and 2 nursing assistants, and will soon be joined by an anesthesiologist and a surgeon who have been brought on by the Orange Rotary.

Founded in 1993, Giving Children Hope/Global Operations and Development is an Orange County, California faith-based nonprofit organization engaged in domestic and international poverty alleviation through relief, medical development, nutrition, education, and vocational training.

Additional information on upcoming shipments will be released as it is made available. For information on how to help, visit our website at www.gchope.org or contact our office at 714-523-4454.
