Our partners report that there is a shortage of medicines in Sudan, as well as a problem with sever malnourishment, starvation and famine.
Sudan has been at war for 40 years. Over 2 million people have been internally displaced during the past two years due to civil conflict. Since a peace accord was signed in 2006, hundreds of thousands of people have been returning to Southern Sudan, but the infrastructure has been destroyed by the war.
Medical aid is necessary until all the clinics and medical industries can be built again.
Giving Children Hope’s partners will be working with the Minister of Health to assist in receiving and distributing the medicines, and to identify which clinics and hospitals are in most need.
