In many regions of Zambia, approximately 15.2 percent of the adult population is living with HIV/AIDs. Tuberculosis is one of the leading diseases of the region and is highly co-existent in the HIV/AIDs community.
At Northrise University, a Christ-centered educational institution dedicated to equip men and women to work in ministry and business to contribute to the spiritual and economic transformation of Zambia, 88 percent of the student population has a personal or family history of malaria and 14 percent of these students had a family member die from this disease.
To help address the needs of the poorest and neediest regions of Zambia, particularly in the Ndola community, Northrise University Care (NUCARE) is partnering with Giving Children Hope to receive medicines, medical supplies and equipment for its clinic.
This clinic serves approximately 1,200 individuals each month and addresses the most prevalent ailments of the region, including malaria, HIV/AIDs, Tuberculosis and water-and foodborne dieseases due to parasites.
A container filled with clinical supplies and equipment left the Giving Children Hope offices today. The container will arrive in Zambia soon to complete a medical clinic at Northrise University.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this shipment possible!
Container filled with medical supplies and equipment was loaded today at the Giving Children Hope facility. This clinical package for Northrise University will be sent Friday afternoon. Northrise University will use this container to stock a developing clinic in order to treat the local community.
