Hollywood Rockumentary Helps Raise Funds for Orange County Nonprofit

BUENA PARK, Calif. (October 8, 2008) –CALL + RESPONSE, a rockumentary on modern day slavery, is partnering with Giving Children Hope to help raise funds to help build a clinic in Thailand for orphans that have been rescued from slavery. The Not For Sale Campaign will also be partnering to help build a health clinic stocked with medicines and supplies to provide care for hundreds of children. Giving Children Hope will help supply medical equipment, supplies and medicines.

The rockumentary is premiering in select theaters this weekend from October 10-16. Proceeds will help to end slavery and to help fund the clinic in Thailand. Orange County showings will be at Edwards Westpark 8 at 3755 Alton Parkway, Irvine 92606. Los Angeles showings will be at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 at 8000 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, 90046. Tickets are on sale at www.callandresponse.com and at these theaters.

The movie includes a star-studded list of luminaries on the issue such as Cornel West, Madeleine Albright, Daryl Hannah, Julia Ormond, Ashley Judd, Nicholas Kristof, and many other prominent political and cultural figures offer first hand account of this 21st century trade. Performances from Grammy-winning and critically acclaimed artists including Moby, Natasha Bedingfield, Cold War Kids, Matisyahu, Imogen Heap, Talib Kweli, Five For Fighting, Switchfoot, members of Nickel Creek and Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers, Rocco Deluca move this chilling information into inspiration for stopping it.
