Giving Children Hope works to supply medical supplies to the global community, as well as the local community. In California, we work to bring supplies to free clinics who work to provide health care to people who cannot afford it.
Giving Children Hope will be debuting a mobile medical clinic that will treat the under-served populations in Orange County and Los Angeles. The mobile clinic will have a large dental component and will also provide basic medical treatment.
The free clinic will be staff with volunteer doctors and staff that will treat an estimated 1,200 people a day.
GCHope’s new mobile medical unit made it’s debut at the Remote Area Medical event at the Forum. Thousands of men, women, and children were given health care they would not have been able to afford otherwise.
With the August 11 launch date rapidly approaching, Giving Children Hope sits down with two vital partners of our Mobile Medical Clinic.
Director of Medical Education and CEO of Amrit Davaa Wellness Center Inc. Dr. Natalie Nevins and Associate Dean of Community Partnerships for Western University Dr. Timothy Martinez discuss why and how their respective organizations are teaming up with GCHope on this important project.
Giving Children Hope has partnered with World Medical Mission to help provide dental equipment to a new clinic opening in Los Angeles on June 7.
GCHope and World Medical Mission have partnered to bring medical supplies and medicines to countries such as Ethiopia, Peru, Myanmar (Burma), and various other countries.
Medical supplies were taken by the Clear Foundation who works with several partner organizations including South Bay Vocational Center (SBVC). SBVC serves over 700 developmentally disabled persons per month and provided the medical supplies to 10 free clinics in their area.
The distribution of Giving Children Hope’s medical supplies took place over a period of two weeks time. The medical supplies were taken by the Clear Foundation who works with several partner organizations including South Bay Vocational Center (SBVC). SBVC serves over 700 developmentally disabled persons per month and provided the medical supplies to 10 free clinics in their area.
Barbara Johnson, Senior Habilitation Coordinator for SBVC stated that the supplies went as soon as they came in. Places like Linwood Development Center were blessed by the supplies that advance their mission.
Thanks to all of Giving Children Hope’s supporters for helping the least of these!
Here is a thank you note from a Special Ed teacher with LA Unified expressing her thanks for helping the school nurses:

Dear [Giving Children Hope],
I would like to say thank you and express our appreciation for all the medical materials and supplies we received from you at South bay Vocational Center through the efforts of the organizations Feed the Children and Giving Children Hope. All of the items will be used by our school nurses for our students who are medically fragile, and those with sever physical, cognitive delays and disabilites. Some of the supplies will also be added to our school mergency supplies. In this time of budget cuts and shortages, your supplies are truly needed and will be put to good use. Once again on behalf of our staff, students and their families we say “Thank You!”
Sincerely,
Karen Junger

Giving Children Hope sent pallets of medical supplies to aid Operation USA with their event to supply hundreds of clinics in California with the items they need to serve locals without health care.
On October 29, close to 30 free clinics in the Los Angeles area participated in the event which lasted from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Donated medical supplies were given free, on a first-come, first-served basis, to the free clinic participants.
Raquel Villa, from the Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles goes every year to the event to get everything from gloves to furniture, “We wouldn’t take anything we don’t need,” she says as she held up a list of medical supplies she was looking for. The clinic serves 2,000 people a month. Raquel says her clinic spends about $3,000 a month of certain medical supplies, so the event that Operation USA puts on quarterly helps with the clinics expense, and helps the money go toward the clinic’s other important expenses. She thanked Operation USA for putting on the event and Giving Children Hope for supplying some of the medical supplies.
Since 1983, Operation USA has been facilitating donations of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, equipment and educational materials free of charge to over 200 nonprofit California clinics.
To help with be make a difference, you can volunteer at our facilities in Buena Park and help sort medical supplies to send out to local and global projects like this one. Please contact our volunteer coordinator at 714-523-4454 x. 113 for more information.
