Siloé Community Clinic was established in July of 2008 and currently serves over 100 patients per month in the La Mision area of Mexico.
The most prevalent ailments in the area are hypertension, diabetes, acute infections, allergies and arthritis. The population in the area is approximately 10,000 people, mostly from the La Mision Valley, but they have people come from as far north as 25 km away in Cantamar.
There is a large prevalence of single mothers in the area; roughly 60% of the patients are women and children with 40% being elderly patients and young men. The economic climate of the community relied heavily upon US tourists but due to the downturn in the US economy tourism has disappeared and this community has been largely impacted with over 40% unemployment in the Valley. Those who do have work make on average $50 per week. The community is in need of no-cost health care which this clinic is providing.
Please partner with Giving Children Hope and Door of Faith to provide supplies to this impoverished community in Mexico. The shipment will include high-value pharmaceuticals, a cardiograph, defibrillator, pulse oximeter, autoclave, and many other basic necessities. You gift will go far in getting health care to the La Mision community
