(2005-11-04) A team of fifty, including GCH president John Ditty and LHS students, faculty, and parents will travel to Louisiana during Thanksgiving week to set up and administer feeding centers; making certain that hurricane victims will not miss out on Thanksgiving this year. With a generous donation of turkeys and Thanksgiving side dishes, GCH will be able to feed hundreds of people in New Orleans Ninth Ward and inner city.
GCH has already successfully collaborated with LHS to manage several clean-up projects in Kenner, Louisiana. A team of fourteen students and faculty members from the high school went to Louisiana in mid-October for ten days. While there, they worked in fifteen homes determined to have the greatest need; removing damaged furniture, tearing down dry walls and sheds, and cleaning out debris.
