Carol Gussett, born in Jamaica, suffered a terrible tragedy one day in the shop that she owned and ran. Two gunman came into her store, tied her up, stole from her, and threw acid into her face making her blind.

Carol spent a lot of time in the hospitals in Jamaica and eventually moved to the United States where she now resides in Orange County. Carol has made it a mission to give back to the community that once helped her, but is in need of so much help itself.

Originally built in 1860 as a public infirmary, the Annotto Bay Hospital expanded rapidly to provide out-patient services the many communities of North-East St Mary. Annotto Bay Hospital today handles approximately 14,661 out-patient visits annually, including emergency services.
