GCH Team Leaves for Indonesia

Team of four travels to Indonesia to deliver oral vaccinations

The team of 4 (John Ditty, David Gales, Bashana Ditty (17) and Jonathan (15 soon to be 16) left early this morning at 2AM from LAX.

Their tentative schedule:

August 1: Medan
August 2: Sibolga to board a rebuilt fishing boat and leave for the islands
August 3-7: Banyak Islands; Polio vaccinations will occur in 3 villages: Ujung Batu, Ujung Sialit and one other. Rice and a rebuilt fishing boat will be delivered
August 8: leave Banyak for Nias Island
August 9-11: Polio vaccinations, delivery of rice and another rebuilt fishing boat to Tukemberua and Teluk Dalam. Medical clinics will be established in these two villages.
August 10: Leave Nias for Medan and then to the island of East Timor Leste to meet with the governor of this small country. Global was able to bring in 2 containers of food to this region where tremendous starvation has occurred.

An office, medical clinic and distribution center is almost completed which will be the headquarters of Global Operations and Development on Nias Island.
