GCH and SIFE Bring Computers to Ghana University

Working with Students In Free Enterprise from La Sierra University to bring computer literacy to Ghana coeds

Giving Children Hope (GCH) in collaboration with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) from La Sierra University, Riverside California is involved in increasing computer literacy in children and providing opportunities for adults to develop marketable skills. We have sent both basic humanitarian aid and over three hundred computers so far to Valley View University in Oyibi, Ghana, our partner in Ghana.

Valley View University, a Seventh – day Adventist institution serving students from 15 African countries, is piloting a program to distribute computers to local grade schools. The Valley View students will help maintain the computer facilities in the grade schools to ensure that the children get a meaningful experience. Internet facilities have been established on the Valley View campus for students and the community. Adult training programs are also planned to assist individuals developing their skills and formulating micro business plans. We are excited to be part of this network of institutions and students that not only wish to achieve academically but wish to serve in a thoughtful way to help all people’s lives.
