GCHope was issued a challenge by the Dhont Family Foundation to raise $25,000 before December 25. If we are able to raise these funds the foundation will match them for a total of $50,000 to feed homeless children in Orange County.
This will enable approximately 208 children to be fed each week through the school year right here in our community.
Donate today and help us reach our goal.
We’ve Got Your Back is a weekend nutrition program created by Giving Children Hope for elementary students in Orange County’s school districts who have been identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento act.
After 3 weeks GCHope has raised $9,0405.65. We still need an additional $15,594.45 by Christmas so we can reach our $25,000 goal. We’d like to thank Trinity Presbyterian Church of Orange County for donating $850.65 to the program. We would also like to mention Thrivent Financial for Lutherans who will be sending in a $1,600 donation and Cooking Light Yorba Linda who will be collecting money from friends to donate in lieu of a gift exchange.
Thank you to everybody who donated, and please tell your friends there’s still time to reach our goal. Donate today!
An update from Jenise Steverding after another week passes in the $25,000 Dhont Family Foundation Matching Grant challenge. We’ve raised $7,275 so far, leaving us with $17,725 left to match by December 25!

After the 1st of 5 weeks GCHope has raised $4,065. It’s a good start but still a ways away from $25,000 needed. Donate and tell a friend today and check back next week for our Week 2 Update.
The Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary donated $4,000 toward “We’ve Got Your Back” matching grant challenge! Their efforts will be doubled by the Dhont Family Foundation.
Giving Children Hope thanks the YLSR for their continued support feeding homeless children in Orange County through the We’ve Got Your Back program.
