In partnership with the Orange Rotary Club, Giving Children Hope has established a new medical clinic in Zimbabwe. With the help of the Rotary, GCH was able to specify the needed supplies and equipment for the clinic, and supplied the items through the procurement of low cost or donated items. GCH’s bio-technician refurbishes recycled medical equipment to be included in the shipment.
The new clinic is located in the village of Chinhoyi and is designed to consist of 32 rooms, of which 4 have already been constructed. The clinic’s staff currently includes 3 doctors, 5 nurses, and 2 nursing assistants, and will soon be joined by an anesthesiologist and a surgeon who have been brought on by the Orange Rotary.
In January 2007, the most recent shipment of medical supplies and equipment sent from Giving Children Hope arrived in Zimbabwe.

I am very glad to inform you all that we received the container at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital yesterday. We offloaded the container from late mid-morning to late afternoon in the presence of Don, Lisa and friends; Chinhoyi Rotary Club members and Hospital staff. On behalf of the members of our club, hospital staff and the Chinhoyi community I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful and generous donation. Many thanks also to everyone of you who worked so tirelessly to ensure that the donation safely got to Chinhoyi. Ron, please may you ensure that our special thanks message is received by everyone who contributed towards this worthy cause. We promise to make sure that this medical donation benefits the less privileged members of the community in line with the principles of Rotary.
We are also planning for an official hand over ceremony to be held on a date to be decided upon jointly by the Harare and Chinhoyi clubs.I will keep you posted. Once again showers of thanks everyone for the giving hand, and God Bless.
