World Vision is committed to partnering with the people of the Sudan to enhance their lives today and to help enact sustainable solutions for the future of their communities, families, and children. Currently, there are no children registered in the World Vision sponsorship program. World Vision operates several development projects, a few of which are supported by U.S. donors. Highlights of these efforts include the following:

  • The Darfur Clean Water Initiative improves access to water in South Darfur communities by drilling 50 deep wells.
  • The Yambio County Water and Environmental Sanitation Project is addressing the insufficient water supply in the Sakure and Li-rangu areas. The influx of refugees and internally displaced people returning to the area has taxed community services. The project will increase clean and safe water access by drilling 21 boreholes and promoting safe hygiene practices. The Gograil Water and Environmental Sanitation Project in the west will achieve the same objectives.
